Precision Physiotherapy’s treatment approach for sports injuries and musculoskeletal conditions:

One-to-one treatment sessions: At Precision Physiotherapy, our physiotherapists will only treat one client at a time to ensure quality care.

Hands-on manual therapy: No ineffective electrical machines, tools, hot-packs or gimmicks. National guidelines do not recommend electrical machines like ultrasound or interferential. These have short-lived benefits (3-5 mins) if any benefit at all. Hot-packs may help relax spasmy muscle temporarily – we will advise if you should do this at home.

Professional assessment and treatment: All of the physiotherapists have a professional university standard qualification (B.Sc.) as a minimum requirement. We operate as an evidence-based practice, using clinical approaches proven and recommended through research and consensus guidelines. We have a professional development program to keep us up-to-date with current practice guidelines. Our senior physiotherapist, Dr Aubrey Monie, who contributes to, and supervises, our professional development has several university level qualifications (Ph.D., BSc Physio., Grad.Dip. Sports Manual Therapy, M.Med.Sc. (Thesis: shoulder JPS), Master of Manual Therapy, Myofascial Dry needling since 2000), and is a Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists by the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

A wide variety of techniques: We use a multi-modal approach, including Joint mobilisation, Joint manipulation “click”, Muscle/Myofascial techniques, Trigger point therapy, Myofascial Dry Needling (optional at no extra cost), prescription exercise programs, nerve desensitising and mobilising, rehabilitation programs [conditioning], and consider the patient as a whole, including psychological and social factors which may be contributing to their experience of pain.

Personalised programs: You won’t just get a pre-printed hand-out. We consider your condition as well as your work, sports, hobbies, and goals. Your rehabilitation plan revolves around your condition and lifestyle.

Ability to refer for X-rays and MRI: If we see the need, we can refer directly to radiology clinics for X-rays or MRI. X-rays of spinal regions e.g. neck and/or back can be done at no cost to the patient.
